12-4 Saturday Special

Saturday, December 4th, 2010

Hi everyone! Melissa here for this week’s Saturday Special! Today we are going to learn to hang a charm from a ribbon! I know that it sounds easy, but it was something I just recently learned how to do and I know that a lot of people have no idea how to do it. So, here we go!

Ok, lets start out with a blank document in PSE. Open your ribbon and drag it onto the page:

Step1-2-1.jpg

Next, select Filter>Distort>Liquify (these instructions are for PSE, they may be slightly different in PS). Chose your brush size, I used 67, and your brush pressure, I used 75. Make sure you have warp selected, which is the top option on the left hand side of the screen. Now gently rub your brush back and forth (left to right, then right to left, in small strokes), over a small area of the ribbon, until it looks pinched. When you are satisfied with the look you have, select ok.

Now, drag your charm onto the page and place over the “pinched” area. With your ribbon layer selected, use the rectangular marquee tool and select the area of ribbon you need to thread through the charm, then right click and choose Layer Via Cut. Now move this on top of the charm, so that it looks threaded. Clean up any stray pixels with the eraser tool.

And we are done! See, wasn’t that easy??

Now for the rules:
- You have until December 31 to complete this challenge.
- Post your pages in the “Saturday Special” gallery and link it back to the thread in the forum.
- You will earn 1 point for your LO and a bonus point if you use a new release (within 7 days of release – be sure to mention this in the forum and in your credits).
- You don’t have to use ScrapMatters products, but we love it when you do!
- No double dipping, your LO must be unique to this challenge.
- At the end I will pick a random winner to receive an extra bonus point.

I can’t wait to see what you create, thanks for playing!!!
