This is one of my favourite challenges and I’m so pleased to be hosting this week’s challenge.

We’re going to be lifting the fantabulous Amber (sm_amber). Not only is she an amazing designer but she’s a pretty good at scrapping too !!

Remember that your page doesn’t have to be an exact copy. You can lift her composition, her color scheme or even the general feel of a layout.

Good Sunday evening. I’m dropping in to bring you a late edition of our Sunday Spotlight tonight. I’m excited to bring you one of our very own ScrapMatters Girls…Chel today.

1. Your screen name? Your real name? Chel for both.

2. What is your main job/career? My main job is being Nik’s Mom! I feel so lucky to be able to stay home with him!

3. Are you married/children/pets? I have been married to my HS sweetheart for 15 years. Mike & 1 have one son – Nikolai (born Dec. 2006) & two orange tabby cats (Calvin & Hobbes).

4. Where is home for you? I live on the Texas Gulf Coast – 1 hour south of Houston & 15 minutes from the beach.

5. What are your 3 favorite foods? Pizza, Hamburgers/French Fries & my Mom’s Chicken Strips.

6. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Dutch Chocolate

7. Snacks…Salty or Sweet? Sweet – really just chocolate

8. Beverage of choice? Water or Diet Sprite – Love Dr. Pepper but it does not love me…….

9. What’s your least favorite food? Mashed Potatoes – I know weird but I have food texture issues!

10. PC or Mac? What program do you use? PC and PSE 8

11. How long have you been digi-scrapping? How did you get started? I started when Nik was about 6 months old. I was having photos edited from Mike’s childhood, so he bought me PSE 5. Melissa (profiler_mar) mentioned to me that there was Digital Scrapbooking. I looked into it and here I am!!

12. What was your 1st LO about? My first LOs (and most of them since!) were about Nik. I no longer have it uploaded.

13. Do you have any other hobbies besides digi-scrapping (are there other hobbies)? Other hobbies? I do love to go on adventures with Nik & Mike, read & go sailing & counted cross-stitch,…..But mostly I scrap!

14. What is the most challenging part of scrapbooking for you? Having the time and mojo both at the same time!! LOL!

15. What would you like to learn to do (or do better) not related to scrapbooking? Cook….like from step one.

16. What are your favorite movies/TV shows? Lately I have been watching lots of crime dramas…Whatever is on Netflix Instant. We usually watch sports and we have watched American Idol in the past.

17. Describe your “scrapping” environment. Music? TV in the background? Drinks? Snacks? Where? Lots of times it is with Nik in my lap so I get half of the screen to scrap and he gets half the screen to watch YouTube!

18. If you only had 2 elements to use on a LO, what would they be? Two elements? Uummm…….well I would HAVE to have staples (love staples!) and flowers.

19. Would you like to share a little known fact about you…? Really?!? Me! Don’t you people think I am weird enough already?! LOL!

20. Can you tell us a little about your scrappin’ style? I am not sure I really have a style but it would be more towards white space LOs. But lately I have been more clustery – so that one is tough for me!

21.  What is your favorite part of being a ScrapMatters Girl? Don’t even have to think on this one. It is the chatting with the other SMG behind the scenes. Really a fun, crazy, wonderful group of ladies!

Hi everyone! Melissa here for this week’s Saturday Special! Today we are going to learn to hang a charm from a ribbon! I know that it sounds easy, but it was something I just recently learned how to do and I know that a lot of people have no idea how to do it. So, here we go!

Ok, lets start out with a blank document in PSE. Open your ribbon and drag it onto the page:

Next, select Filter>Distort>Liquify (these instructions are for PSE, they may be slightly different in PS). Chose your brush size, I used 67, and your brush pressure, I used 75. Make sure you have warp selected, which is the top option on the left hand side of the screen. Now gently rub your brush back and forth (left to right, then right to left, in small strokes), over a small area of the ribbon, until it looks pinched. When you are satisfied with the look you have, select ok.

Now, drag your charm onto the page and place over the “pinched” area. With your ribbon layer selected, use the rectangular marquee tool and select the area of ribbon you need to thread through the charm, then right click and choose Layer Via Cut. Now move this on top of the charm, so that it looks threaded. Clean up any stray pixels with the eraser tool.

And we are done! See, wasn’t that easy??
