Here comes another featured designer . . . Tanya of Crossbone Cuts Designs! I only had to ask a few questions and Tanya took care of the rest of this interview. It is great to to get to know her!

“Well, my name is Tanya and I am a almost 31 year old (on 9/29!) hair stylist/waitress from southern California.  I have a crazy boyfriend named Chris that I have been dating happily for the past 9 and a half years.  I have a very close family.  We all live within 30 min of each other.  My ENTIRE family.  My 4 cousins are my best friends and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.  My pride and joy is my 5 dogs.  Roxy, Chloe, Holly, Missy and Banana.  Yes, Banana. Lol.  I scrap LO’s about those crazy pups all the time!”

“I am a HUGE Disney fan and spend any free time I have out at Disneyland!  I have been a annual pass holder for over 15 years now and Disneyland was even my weekend hangout for my friends and I when I was in high school!  It is definitely my happy place and has been since I was a small child.”

Lately, Disneyland has become a amazing bond between my mother Nancy and I.  We try to head out to the park at least every other Tuesday and just have fun with each other and take in all the Disney magic.  I am always posting fun Disney photos on Instagram (username: TanyaH666).  Instagram is another serious obsession of mine =)

I love this layout Tanya did about Tuesdays with her Mom at Disneyland.

“I am fun, funny, crazy and a really good friend.  Like most of us, I take photos of everything and am never without some sort of camera.”

This time of year Tanya and her family share a love for college football. ” we are a HUGE college football family.  We look forward to it every year. Oklahoma, Nebraska and Notre Dame.”

Tanya has really shown us her love for scrapping the important things in her life with the layouts that she shared with us. I wanted to hear how she took that love of scrapping moving into designing.

“I got started designing in the Design Star competition here at Scrap Matters.  I had never designed anything before that competition.  I love scrapping, but I need to challenge myself further and I thought that taking a stab at designing might be what I needed to kit my mojo into high gear.  I had no idea if I would actually like designing or not.  Turns out I really liked it!  I learned so much during that competition and made it all the way to the last round.  I did not get picked as one of the winners but that didn’t stop me.  Scrap Matters has been my digi home since 2009.  I was a fan, then a SMG and then a CT here.  After the competition I kept at it.  I kept designing, posting freebies, etc.  And a short couple months later I was asked to join the design team of ScrapMatters, my dream store!

“I get inspiration from all over the place. Sometimes it is colors, a crazy idea in my head or just that I can’t find the perfect kit to scrap some of my own photos.  So I make my own!  That is one of my favorite parts about designing =)  Making a kit to go with my own photos. I design/scrap on a Macbook Pro with PSCS 5, PSE 8 and Illustrator. I was always a paper scrapper and when I went digi, I still wanted my LO’s to have the feel of paper pages.  Most of the kits and products I make are made with this in mind.”

I think Tanya’s personality definitely comes through in her designs.  In her words “Bright, cheery and fun!”
