Arrows

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

Well, it is almost time for Valentine’s Day. If you house is anything like ours, Cupid has been fast at work. :) We draw names and have “secret” Cupids for a week. So arrows have been shot all over the house. In honor of this fun holiday, let’s create a layout with arrows on it (our next challenge). Here is the layout I created with Stolen Moments’s arrows:

And my layout:

Notice that the arrows don’t have to be bold, they can be subtle to draw your eye into where you want it. :) Let’s see what you can come up with!

Hybrid Challenge: 2/7/12

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Hello everyone,

Kayla aka keepscrappin here with today’s challenge, so dust off those scissors and warm up the printer cuz we’re going hybrid today.

7. Let’s get hybrid: Create a Valentine! It can be a traditional card, a candy wrapper cover or something else!

I decided to keep it simple today and used Simply J Studio’s Pillow Box Template and the February Mix-a-kit items from Down This Road Designs.

Just clip your papers to the template and print on cardstock.  Then, sized the heart to fit on the pillow box and turned off all the other layers.  Then I printed the heart on a separate sheet of cardstock.  Cut them out and tied the box with a little string for a quick and easy pillow box to put a little treat in for my sweet heart.  Gotta love simple and cute.

You don’t have to make a pillow box.  You can make a card, candy wrapper, tag or whatever your heart desires, just make sure you print it out and take a photo of your creation so we can see your finished product.

CT member Kairyn Lisa made this adorable Valentine’s Party  Invitation to give you more ideas on how to do this challenge.

Hope ya’ll have fun with this one and as always keepscrappin’ along with us here for February’s Bingo Challenges.

February 6th Challenge – Art Inspiration!

Monday, February 6th, 2012

Hi there! Fran here to inspire you to use this piece of graphic art in some way on a layout. You can use the rings like I did, or the scattering like Kayla did (I did that too!… can’t resist a good scatter!) Or any other way you feel inspired by this image. Maybe the colors or something else will inspire you! Here is the art:

And my layout using Fresh Start by Simply Kat Designs

And a layout by Kayla, thanks!

February 5th Challenge – Clustering!

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

Happy Sunday everyone!  Amanda (panders77) here with your bingo challenge for February 5th!  It is my favorite type of scrapping.. CLUSTERING!  Here is the official wording..

Challenge 5. Cluster crazy challenge: one big cluster or many little ones or whatever…just throw as many elements on the page as you can!

I pretty much cluster on every layout.  Minimalism is not my style.  I have a really hard time not piling on the elements, lol!  A cluster can be as simple as just a few flowers in the corner or as complicated as 10 or more.  It is up to you!  Something I like to keep in mind when clustering is to keep it balanced.  I like to place three of the same element around my layout in a triangle shape to draw the eye to the important parts.  But you can cluster in any way to meet this challenge!  I can’t wait to see how you do it!

Here is my layout using Yummy Scrummy Love Bundle of Love by Stolen Moments, Heartbreaker by Stolen Moments, Page Mats Vol 1by Stolen Moments and the leaves from Second Spring by Stolen Moments and Captivated Visions (I really need leaves when I cluster for some reason! :) ) The image is linked for credits.

And for some more fantastic examples from the CT..

Carolyn used Imagination Creation by Stolen Moments and Studio Flergs and Imagination Creation bonus alpha  by Stolen Moments to create this clusterific creation!

And Kairyn Lisa created this shining star of a layout with more conservative clusters!  I just love how you can cluster and still look so clean!

So get out there and pile up your ellies!  I am excited to see your creations in the gallery!

February 4 Challenge – Template Challenge!

Saturday, February 4th, 2012

Melissa (yzerbear19) here with today’s challenge – TEMPLATE CHALLENGE! I love making templates and this month’s template is special to me because it was inspired by my beautiful niece, Juno, who will be turning 1 later this month. (Love you Juno!)

I love simple layouts that let the photos stand out and be the focus. I created a template that you can use just as it is or you can use it as a starting point and add tons of embellishments. It’s up to you!

You can click the image to download it.

I can’t wait to see the layouts you create with this template!

February 3, 2012 Challenge

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Hi all and Happy Friday!  Carolyn here to bring you your daily challenge.  This one is PERFECT for me.  I have two girls and there is nothing more fun for me than to make pink and red layouts.  Can you tell that February is my favorite month scrapping-wise?  Our designers cannot produce enough pink and red kits for me!  So go check out the store and drool over all those new Valentine’s kits.

Challenge 3:  Scrap a page where Pink and Red are the prominent colors on your page!  I love it!

Here’s my layout, Sweet Heart, which I had SO much fun making, using TweetHeart by Julie Marie Designs.  What an awesome kit!

Kayla made this fun layout using the same fabulous kit:

Kairyn made this beautiful 2-pager using Love Is by our brand new designer, May, of  Siamese Studio:

I hope these inspire you to have fun scrapping with two of my favorite colors. I cannot wait to see your layouts for this challenge!

What do you love?

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

Hello!  Jan here.  Are you ready for another challenge?  Good!  I’ve got an easy one for you.

Because of Valentine’s Day, February is universally thought of as the month of love.  So your challenge for today is to create a page of something you love.

I chose to scrap about Disneyland, and more specifically Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.  I simply love Disneyland.  I love being there and I love thinking about it when I’m not there.   I can never seem to get enough photos of the castle, either.   It is just so beautiful!   See for yourself in this page I made using Fairytale by the Design Girl:

And for a bit more inspiration, here is a darling page from Kayla:

Now it’s your turn.  Show us a page about something or someone you love!  Don’t forget to add it to your Bingo card, either!

Have fun scrapping!
